Not every feeling needs a perfect speech
Sometimes waiting until I can say something perfectly just means I wait too long to say it at all.
I used to rehearse difficult conversations in my head until I could explain every feeling in the most reasonable possible way.
The problem is that relationships do not happen after everyone has edited their thoughts. Sometimes you are confused. Sometimes you know something bothered you before you know exactly why.
I am learning that it is okay to start with something simple: 'I do not know how to explain this yet, but I want to talk about it.'
That kind of honesty feels more useful to me than silence followed by one flawless speech three weeks later.
