Fun matters more than looking cool
A date going slightly off-plan can be a better compatibility test than everything working perfectly.
I love a well-planned date, but some of the evenings I remember most are the ones where the plan fell apart.
The restaurant was full. We got lost. Someone said something embarrassing. None of it mattered because we kept laughing.
That is when I notice whether I actually enjoy being around someone rather than just enjoying the setting.
Being able to have fun when the evening stops looking impressive feels much more valuable to me than a perfectly staged date.
